I first recognized the call to music ministry in 1992. Although I had been involved in a music ministry for sometime, it was not until the summer of '92 that I finally surrendered to that call.

I knew that I didn't want to do anything else but serve Him through music. God has given it back a hundred fold. I remember asking God to fill my life with music. He has definitely kept His end of the bargain.

My roots are in Rock as most of my generation. I'm a Baby Boomer and In my family as far as the kids were concerned it was all the heavy rock bands of that era that echoed out from behind the bedroom doors of my brother and sister. Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Blood Sweat and Tears, Electric Light Orchestra, Deep Purple. The louder the better.

As I got to be in my teens I started to develop my own taste in music. I was a little more on the classic rock side of things. Paul McCartney, The Eagles, Neil Young, Tom Petty and The Heart Breakers, Styx, Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith.  My all time favorite rock band was Journey.

Today as a song writer I have a general rule I use when writing. I try let the song dictate the style that it will be. Because music is an emotional based thing, I believe it is best to let the soul speak and have it's way with the tune.

God has been faithful in singing lyrics and melodies to my heart and it is my prayer the He will always allow me to use it to glorify Him.
