The SOL Band Welcomes Mike Czarnecki
Posted by: admin | Comment (0)We would like to welcome Mike Czarnecki to the Sons of Levi band line up. Mike is replacing Eric Branch (Who we will miss) on drums. Mike brings years of experience and expertise to the band. We are excited about the future and look forward to a long musical relationship. Welcome Mike!

SOL Band Welcomes Newest Member!
Posted by: admin | Comment (0)The SOL Band would like to welcome our newest member Barbara Myers. Barbara has been in music ministry for over 13 years. In 2002, Barbara released an album of original music titled “Here I Am”. In 2003, she was invited to Nashville, TN as a finalist in Christian ...music’s New Artist Search. She has played at many events ranging from Biker rally’s to women’s conferences. She also enjoys being outdoors hiking and camping with her family.
Some might wonder how 'She" fits in to a band with the name "Sons" of Levi? We think she fits fine and use the term "Sons" as in "Mankind". All inclusive :) We are looking forward to adding her great vocals to the mix! Welcome Barbara!

Columbia Theater Performance

We had a great time performing at the Columbia Theater this month. We appreciate the support of all those who came out to see us! We also want to thank the folks at the Columbia theater for asking us to be a part of their event. We look forward to performing there again.
We continue to work hard at rehearsals to tighten up and add new music. This week we added 3 more tunes. "Fly Like An Eagle", "Desperado", and an original called "One Day At A Time".
We are currently booking our Spring and Summer Calendar so contact us for your event soon.

That's it for this week Kids!
Tackled two more tunes and Booked a Gig
Posted by: admin | Comment (0)Wow! Great progress these past few weeks. The band rocked two more tunes and locked them in for the most part. "Truth In Spite" and "Your Own Skin" have officially been added to the SOL song list. The guys are really getting to know each other and are really gellin' musically. Tonight's rehearsal was tight and productive. We hope to have several sets of music ready to go as quickly as possible. We have a strong and solid set as it stands now.
The good news is that we get to try it out on some unbiased ears on February 27th at 3:00pm. Dennis Yalch (SOL Bass Player) got us booked for the re-Grand Opening of The Columbia Theatre here in Longview Wa. The Columbia Theatre is a bit of an historical landmark here in Longview and closed last year for major renovations.
SOL will be joining other Local talent for their Grand opening. We will take our tunes and convert them to be a bit more acoustic in nature to fit in with what they need for their event. Should be fun and interesting. More to come as we get more to share.
Thanks for Carin'
Recorded A Few Tunes During Rehearsal
Posted by: admin | Comment (2)I decided to move some of my recording gear down to our rehearsal space this week so we could record our progress. We had been using my Tascam CD recorder for the past several rehearsals and got some rough stuff but I could not leave it alone. I decided a couple of hours before our start time to take it up a notch and bring down my 24 track digital recorder. I mic'd up everything and by the time the guys got here we were ready to lay some rehearsal tracks.
It went great and we got some solid work done on 4 of the arrangements we've been working on.
☻Inside World
☻Rich Man
☻King of Fools
☻Paper Mâché
The goal is to lock down final arrangements and then just work on tightening them up. To date we have about 8 tunes and plan on adding a couple more this coming week. Not bad considering we started just before the holidays and have had several missed rehearsals due to illness and personal stuff. Also we want it to be a quality project and that takes time :)
We are excited about getting out and playing a concert for you soon. We are putting out feelers and hope to book a few things for this spring and Summer. With that in mind we submitted an application to play at the "Go Fourth Festival" here in Longview this July.
I'm going to take a listen to the tracks we did this week and possibly post a few short samples.
So..... stay tuned Kids!
God Bless!
Guest Star This Week!
Posted by: admin | Comment (0)Hey Kids! First let me ask if you would say a prayer for Eric. He is down with a flu bug and so he had to miss rehearsal. We did miss him for sure! At last minute I called Monette Long (An Incredible local talent) to see if she could fill in on drums. She accepted. She's a good buddy and It was nice to have her set in.
We had a great rehearsal this week and the creative energy in the room was powerful! We had an opportunity to once again work on some fresh tunes. We tried a Brand New tune for us that I wrote it back in 1999 but never had an opportunity to play it with a group. The song is called "Paper Mache" It's about the silence we can sometimes experience as we seek God's will.
The band played it 3 times and we pretty much had a great working arrangement. I am excited about it all! Our goal as a group is to not let genre drive every song. As a writer, I want the song to dictate the style that it should be. We want to do rocking tunes, Ballands, some folkrock and whatever. Of course with my roots being in classic rock I'm sure we'll have our own flavor (as Floyd likes to say).
We also worked on the song "Lonely People" and it was like we were channeling the Band "America". It was awesome! Phil was like a one man band playing piano and harmonica while Floyd added his acoustic and back up vocals. Dennis has the right feel for the tune and it just made it a lot of fun! I got to use my Line 6 Variax acoustic 700 that has several 12 string guitars built in.
I am looking forward to getting this project fine tuned so we can get out there and share it with all of you. Thanks for Caring :)

Great Rehearsal Tonight!
Posted by: admin | Comment (0)We had a great one tonight kids. It was a little slow getting started after the holidays and with me being sick last week but, we finally got the dust knocked off and picked up where we left off. We tweaked several of the arrangements and added a few interesting elements. Very nice! Had a great time hanging with the SOL boys. I am looking forward to next week. I'm putting a few feelers out to play our first concert. If you hear of anything make sure you contact us!
God Bless!
Missed One
Posted by: admin | Comment (0)Hey everyone! I thought I would bring you up to date on the SOL project. The holidays have been hectic for everyone but Christmas was awesome! We had a scheduled rehearsal but I had to cancel this week because of a yucky cold. I am foggy as I write this but hope to be feeling better soon!
The band is sounding awesome and we are making progress. Most of all we are getting to know each other better and that makes the music fun!.
I am looking forward to the New Year and hope to book a concert in January or February at the latest. We still have a lot of work to do but I am confident that we'll be ready!
Stay Tuned Kids
God Bless!
The Gift of AWESOME!
Posted by: admin | Comment (0)Hey everyone! We had our rehearsal tonight (21st of Dec.) and all were present :) We unwrapped the first tune and surprised ourselves that we all actually remembered what we worked on the last time. We made a lot of progress on the arrangements tonight and the comradery of the band is growing tighter than a Red Christmas Bow on a Happy Christmas Wreath!
After a long week filled with emotions from the loss of a friend, I needed this one. I am excited to be working with such great musicians and quality people. I used my Peavey JF1-EX guitar tonight and the tone was Saweet as the last batch of Fudge Bonnie made! (IMHO). I think it will be getting a lot of use in this project. It just feels right for the gig.
Everyone had great input with the tune arrangements. It really makes things interesting and keeps the ole creative punch flowing. Everyone is looking forward to getting out and playing for you soon!
Until next time kids... Have a Merry Christmas! Jesus is the Reathon For the Breathin!

So Like I um... Blew up my Website.
Posted by: admin | Comment (0)Funny thing happened the other night while I was working on the SOL website. I tried to install a component that was intended for an earlier version of the CMS I use. Well, that's all it took to corrupt my database and I was unable to recover the site.
Thank God for Backups! I had to re-install the website from the backup and wala! It was back. I lost a few things in the process like my last 3 blogs and the "Meet The Band" page that I had worked on. I also lost a couple of videos that I had uploaded. So, I spent the evening rebuilding that and now we're back and good to go.
On a Band Note: All is well and we are moving ahead. We missed last week's rehearsal because of life related issues. We are looking forward to this coming week's rehearsal to continue the process of tightening up the tunes we've been working.
Make sure to check out the "Meet The Band" page I've been working on.
God Bless Kids!
So, I made this little video with my new ipone just for kicks.
