Guest Star This Week!

Hey Kids! First let me ask if you would say a prayer for Eric. He is down with a flu bug and so he had to miss rehearsal. We did miss him for sure! At last minute I called Monette Long (An Incredible local talent) to see if she could fill in on drums. She accepted. She's a good buddy and It was nice to have her set in.
We had a great rehearsal this week and the creative energy in the room was powerful! We had an opportunity to once again work on some fresh tunes. We tried a Brand New tune for us that I wrote it back in 1999 but never had an opportunity to play it with a group. The song is called "Paper Mache" It's about the silence we can sometimes experience as we seek God's will.
The band played it 3 times and we pretty much had a great working arrangement. I am excited about it all! Our goal as a group is to not let genre drive every song. As a writer, I want the song to dictate the style that it should be. We want to do rocking tunes, Ballands, some folkrock and whatever. Of course with my roots being in classic rock I'm sure we'll have our own flavor (as Floyd likes to say).
We also worked on the song "Lonely People" and it was like we were channeling the Band "America". It was awesome! Phil was like a one man band playing piano and harmonica while Floyd added his acoustic and back up vocals. Dennis has the right feel for the tune and it just made it a lot of fun! I got to use my Line 6 Variax acoustic 700 that has several 12 string guitars built in.
I am looking forward to getting this project fine tuned so we can get out there and share it with all of you. Thanks for Caring :)
